The Story Behind BernyBee’s Hand Embroidery
From her home studio in Bangalore, Bernice Rebecca Pinto brings thread, faith, and artistry together to create timeless hand-embroidered artworks.
What began as a childhood hobby at the age of ten slowly grew into a lifelong craft a quiet practice of patience, creativity, and reflection. Over the years, embroidery became more than just a skill. It became a way to meditate on scripture, celebrate meaningful moments, and transform simple fabric into stories told through thread.
Today, every piece created under BernyBee’s Hand Embroidery reflects that same spirit thoughtful, intentional, and deeply personal.
Each stitch represents time, care, and a deep appreciation for handmade craftsmanship.
Meet the Artist
Bernice Rebecca Pinto is the founder and artist behind BernyBee’s Hand Embroidery.
With more than 25 years of embroidery experience, Bernice has turned a childhood passion into a creative journey that continues to grow. What started as handmade gifts for friends and family gradually evolved into commissioned artworks and a community of people who appreciate the beauty of handcrafted textile art.
Her work blends traditional hand embroidery techniques with storytelling, scripture, and nature-inspired designs.
Every artwork is created slowly, patiently, and entirely by hand allowing thread, texture, and color to come together in a way that machines simply cannot replicate.
The Art of Hand Embroidery
Hand embroidery is more than decoration it is a slow art form.
Each piece begins with a simple fabric canvas and gradually comes to life through hundreds, sometimes thousands, of carefully placed stitches. Every thread adds depth, texture, and movement to the artwork.
The process cannot be rushed. It requires patience, precision, and a deep respect for craftsmanship.
This slow and intentional process is what makes every BernyBee artwork unique.
No machines.
No prints.
Just needle, thread, and time.
Sharing the Joy of Embroidery
Beyond creating artwork, Bernice also enjoys sharing the craft with others.
Through online embroidery workshops, she has introduced more than 100 students to the calming and rewarding world of hand embroidery. Her students range from children as young as six to adults well into their eighties proving that creativity has no age limit.
Her teaching philosophy is simple:
Embroidery should bring joy, peace, and creative expression.
It is not about perfection, but about enjoying the process and discovering the beauty of creating something with your own hands.
